We all know 2010 was not a great year economically speaking, so taking the entrepreneurial leap was not on the agenda of the typical businessman. Of course, Mike Koehler is not your typical businessman and Smirk New Media is not your typical company. So, when Mike looked at the calendar recently and realized his growing company was about to celebrate its second anniversary, he decided to throw a party… Smirkstock!
“We just wanted to give back to all the people who supported what we’ve been trying to do,” said Mike. “We knew there was a lot of potential for social media to help businesses of all sizes, but no one was stepping in to take them by the hand and show them how.”
Smirk has taken the lead in this arena by growing to a team of seven with a new home office in the urban chic Automobile Alley area in Oklahoma City. They have a presence in Tulsa, Kansas City and Springfield, MO, and continue to add several new clients to their roster every month. “We’ve really had phenomenal growth,” says Mike.
Smirk worked with ROBYN to provide the party guests with a variety of cool Smirk Swag, including the custom-designed t-shirt. “Bobby Lehew [chief branding officer at ROBYN] was the guy who gave me the nudge to start Smirk in the first place,” said Mike. “We love working with ROBYN!”
A rooftop patio party on a mild evening... friends, food, drinks, live music and cool swag… We’re looking forward to celebrating Smirkstock for many years to come.
