While the buzz at the Interactive portion of SXSW (South by Southwest) will be focused on the latest technology, cloud computing, cutting edge gaming and better ways to implement social media strategies, AT&T will likely have the only booth on the tradeshow floor that is giving free tattoos… By real, live recruiters!
OK… So, the recruiters aren’t actually tattoo artists who are inking up the SXSW attendees with dragons and butterflies. Instead, they are applying QR Code tattoosthat can be scanned by smart phones, taking users to the AT&T Talent Network website where they might just find their next job.
This award-winning website allows visitors to create a profile that is then used to help match their goals and skills with jobs at AT&T, now and in the future. But that’s not all… They also give away prizes each month. Cool prizes, actually. Like the new Samsung Galaxy Note! Maybe that’s why over 1.5 million people have already joined the AT&T Talent Network!
“We’re not actively recruiting at SXSW,” said Carrie Corbin, Associate Director of Talent Acquisition. “We’re really building brand awareness and showcasing the history of AT&T over the last 100 years. With eight Nobel Prizes and an average of one new patent every day, we’re more than just a phone company.”
But why did AT&T choose to do the QR Code Tattoos from ROBYN?
“We’ve been using QR codes for two or three years,” said Carrie. “They allow us to implement a destination strategy with a clear call-to-action. It gives people an instant way to connect and engage with us.”
“While social media gets all the love, mobile is where it’s at,” she said. “You use your phone to access the social side.”
