Much like Sally O’Malley from SNL (“I’m 50!”), the Oklahoma City chapter of the American Marketing Association is proud of the fact that they are 50 this year, too. So proud, in fact, that they chose to throw a big party to celebrate both the anniversary and their annual Excellence in Marketing Awards.
Of course, in planning an event of this magnitude, a killer theme is required. Flashing back 50 years, we find ourselves in 1962… Mad Men times… Sleek and swanky with a cocktail on the side. This is The Marketini.
While vi designed the oh-so-cool retro logo, ROBYN sourced plastic martini shakers that light up. To turn it up to 11, though, the invitations were printed on both sides, rolled up with a custom cigar band and placed inside the shakers. Then, the ROBYN assembly team carefully shrink-wrapped 500 of these masterpieces, labeled them and mailed them to marketing and communication professionals across the state.
This is just the beginning, though. As soon as the Marketini shakers began showing up in people’s offices, the Twittersphere lit up! Not only were peopletalking about how cool they were, they were taking pictures and posting them. Talk about exposure… Word-of-mouth… Going viral. This is how it’s done!
